I'm Tim, the woodturner behind The Bute Woodspoiler, working from a small workshop in Rothesay on the Isle of Bute.
Most of the timber I use is Scottish hardwood, often locally sourced, with each knot and ripple shaping the final form.
If you have an idea for a special piece – from club trophies and awards to personalised gifts, whisky stands or replacement trophy bases – I can work with you to design and turn something just for you.
Commissions can include laser-engraved details, logos or names, and I am happy to talk through options, timings and budgets.
Wherever possible I use Scottish hardwoods such as oak, elm, sycamore and ash, along with selected European timbers when they suit the piece.
I also enjoy giving recycled and reclaimed timbers a second life, letting old beams, boards and offcuts become something useful and beautiful again.
If you like what you see, you are very welcome to browse the full shop, get in touch about a commission or send a message with any questions.
